Before you launch your podcast, you must choose the right host. Libsyn and PodBean are among the best podcast hosts on the market, but which one is the best for you? Also, is there a third option available?
Libsyn: a historical figure with a not so user-friendly interface
Libsyn started in 2005. It is a dinosaur on the international market. They have become such a strong host that they have overcome all the challenges of the podcast industry.
Yet, as many people confirm on the Internet, it is not such a user-friendly host 🥵. After you sign up, you need quite a while to figure out how the interface works. The features are not very intuitive, and the customers are sort of left alone in the wild.
Pricewise, they are not great either – there is no free plan, the cheapest option costs $5 and only includes a 3-hour and 162mb storage, and it takes an extra $2 to have the stats 💸. The $15 plan includes a 6-hour and 324mb storage but basic statistical features, while the $20 plan, which is the most popular one, includes a 10-hour and 540mb storage as well as advanced stats. There are more expensive options, but no need to list them here, even more so as you will have to open a second account if you have several podcasts.
PodBean: good prices for an outdated interface
PodBean started in 2006. Pricewise, they're not bad. They have a free plan including a 5-hour storage, a $9 plan for unlimited hosting, and even a $29 plan including all the features.
Unfortunately, the interface is not as good as that of the other podcast hosts. It has not evolved enough over the past few years to match its rivals 😫. Same goes for the features, which are too basic. The website is obviously too limited and is not a great showcase.
Podcastics: the best of both worlds
Our main purpose is to offer you the best value for money in terms of podcast hosting. The Pro plan – the most popular one – costs $9.60/month and includes unlimited storage. The features are much more complete than Libsyn's and PodBean's. Your website is customizable, ad-free and includes blog articles. You have access to the best stats on the market, sexy audio players as well as many other features designed to make things easier and help your podcast grow.
You don’t believe us? Check by yourself! Try Podcastics for free for a month – no need to give us your credit card details! You can then compare Podcastics and its rivals and choose the best host for your podcast! If you have any questions, don't hesitate: our customer service will amaze you with its responsiveness.
