    FAQ: my Podcastics plan

    Podcastics • Community

    Got a question about managing your Podcastics plan? Before contacting support, take a look here: you might just find the answer you're looking for.

    Is it possible to test Podcastics for free?

    Of course you can! First, you'll need to create an account by following this link.

    All you need is an e-mail address. You then have several options for testing the platform:

    • subscribe to a Free plan: entirely free of charge, this allows you to create or import a podcast, then easily manage its episodes. Podcastics then generates an RSS feed for you, as well as a website for your podcast, and gives you access to private messaging and notifications. It's a great way to get a first taste of the Podcastics interface.
    • subscribe to a Premium, Pro, Max or Extreme plan, then test it free of charge and without commitment for one month. Without even entering your credit card code, you'll be able to get a good idea of what Podcastics has to offer 🦸‍♂️. You'll have access to all our features: website personalization, statistics, customizable audio players, social functions (comments, reviews, ratings)... If you work for a company, you'll also appreciate functions such as assigning access rights to third parties (Admin, Manager, Analyst) or the ability to manage a podcast on behalf of a client. This is the best way to appreciate the qualities of Podcastics, and if you ask us, you'll find it hard to go back.

    Whatever plan you choose to try out for free for a month (Premium, Pro, Max or Extreme, each with its own subtleties detailed on this page), you'll receive a request for payment at the end of the trial. You'll then have the option of paying it if you wish to continue the adventure, or simply cancelling it if you don't wish to go any further. Your subscription will then simply expire, and you'll automatically switch to our Free formula 👍

    What features does a user account on Podcastics give me access to?

    Creating an account on Podcastics is entirely free. If you're a podcaster, you can of course add a subscription option. But if you're just a listener, then everything is still free, and creating an account allows you to do many things:

    • follow your favorite podcasts, and receive an email each time a new episode is published;
    • post reviews of your favorite podcasts, write comments on episodes, and give them ratings or emojis;
    • icing on the cake: use a private messaging system 💌 which will enable you to contact directly podcasters you admire or with whom you'd like to collaborate.

    How do I change my username?

    Your username is also the one that appears on listening platforms (Apple Podcasts, Spotify...) as the author of a podcast. To change it, simply go to your Podcastics account settings.

    We'd like to make a few additional observations:

    • you can use special characters in your Podcastics username (spaces, hyphens, quotation marks, parentheses, percentages...);
    • once you've changed it, the listening platforms will take a little time to update, usually less than an hour;
    • to connect to Podcastics, you'll need to use this new username, or your existing email address.

    In a nutshell, what services are included in the Pro plan?

    Pro.jpg.a023b8ea11947c29363f8319507d6263.jpgAvailable for €8 per month, the Pro plan is quite simply the most popular offer from Podcastics. And with good reason, since it includes file hosting with unlimited storage and unlimited bandwidth! That's what distinguishes it from the Premium plan, which doesn't include hosting.

    Other services are as numerous as they are qualitative: a real, customizable website, the best statistics on the market, sexy audio players, in-depth social features and many other tools you won't soon be able to do without 😍

    In a nutshell, what services are included in the Premium plan?

    Premium.jpg.b48c38199f1906c609afb077ae177a1e.jpgA customizable website ready to host your articles, relevant statistics, reviews, ratings and comments: that's what Podcastics offers with the Premium package. Unrivalled quality of service in return for a monthly payment of €4, but which will require you to manage the hosting of your podcast by other means.

    This subscription is particularly suitable if you already own your own web server, such as a WordPress site. It saves you from having to pay twice for hosting. On the other hand, please note that some services, such as DropBox, Google Drive or OneDrive, don't allow audio streaming (and therefore can't work for a podcast).

    Furthermore, this subscription isn't suitable if you want to migrate your podcast from another host (Anchor in particular). Podcastics will no longer synchronize with your old RSS feed, and will therefore not import any new episodes you may have published on your previous host.

    For further details, please refer to the “Podcastics features” section of this FAQ.

    Can I switch from Pro to Premium?

    Podcastics makes it quick and easy to switch from one plan to another. It is therefore possible to upgrade from Pro to Premium. Note, however, that the Premium plan does not include hosting, and that this change will result in the deletion of your audio files on Podcastics. You'll need to manage the hosting issue differently, and then manually enter the address of your audio files in Podcastics for each of your episodes.

    What's the difference between Pro and Max?

    Max.jpg.ad992bd6670ceefd809f03dd2401b720.jpgWe won't repeat the menu from starter to dessert: our Max plan gives you access to all the features included in the Pro plan presented above. Hosting, website, full stats, social features and all the rest!

    So what else does the Max plan include? One of our big new features for 2023: automated generics. This handy tool lets you automatically add audio content before and/or after all or part of your episodes. This could be credits, thank-yous, a call to subscribe to your podcast... In all cases, editing is now just a click away, so you don't have to do any additional editing. And of course, you can add as many intros and outros as you like, rearrange them easily, and even specify a text description for each one, which will be added automatically to your episodes.

    What's the difference between Max and Extreme?

    Extreme.jpg.5c14b4d62f2b433d4960d0b14b552f7d.jpgHave you always dreamt of being treated like a VIP? With our Extreme plan, you'll be given priority over everyone else when it comes to customer service. But to tell you the truth, the real added value of this package lies elsewhere, in the ad campaigns and our ultra-intuitive campaign management module.

    You can choose the type of placement in your episodes (pre-roll or post-roll), as well as their scheduling, priority level, capping in terms of number of plays... As you can see, your campaigns fit together perfectly, and you can link them together to keep your schedule 100% full. The icing on the cake: each campaign can automatically insert a message of your choice in the description of your episodes.

    The Extreme plan is just what you need if you have monetization ambitions!

    Do I need a new subscription if I want to launch a second podcast?

    Yes, you do! Each podcast has its own subscription. This is how most podcast hosts work. In the case of Podcastics, depending on your needs, you can choose between a Free, Premium, Pro, Max or Extreme plan. Each podcast can then contain an unlimited number of episodes, with no storage space restrictions.

    And if you purchase three or more podcasts, you'll automatically receive a 10% discount on all other podcasts at the same or lower price. If you already own two podcasts, this is a great reason to start a third!

    I already have a podcast hosted on Podcastics. How do I launch a second one?

    It's easy to add a second podcast to your existing account. While logged into your Podcastics account (your name should appear in the top right-hand corner of the screen), go to the Podcastics subscriptions page.

    Choose the package that suits you best, and it will be added directly to your account. You can then create your new podcast, following the same steps as for the first.

    Once your podcast has been created, you can easily switch from one podcast to another in your Podcastics interface:

    • either by clicking on your name in the top right-hand corner of the screen, then choosing the podcast you want;
    • or, in your Podcastics “Manager” (the interface that lets you manage your podcast), by clicking on the podcast cover in the top left-hand corner: a drop-down menu will open, allowing you to choose another podcast.

    Each podcast has its own subscription, which you can choose from: Free, Premium, Pro, Max or Extreme. If you wish to add a new podcast to your account, you'll need to take out a new subscription. Please note, however, that after three subscriptions, you automatically receive a 10% discount on all your subscriptions (at the same or lower rate).

    How do I cancel my Podcastics subscription?

    Are you sure? No regrets? 💔

    In that case, you should know that it's very easy to end your subscription. The process requires just a few clicks. First, go to the “Subscription” section of your Podcastics interface. In the top right-hand corner, in the “Actions” menu, simply select “Cancel my subscription”. After confirmation, your subscription will last until its next expiry date, but will not be renewed beyond that date.

    Before taking the plunge, we'd like to introduce you to our Archive plan. This allows you to keep your podcast accessible to your listeners at a lower cost (just €5/month), while retaining all the Podcastics services you're used to. The only difference? You can no longer publish new episodes... unless you upgrade to the Pro plan at a later date (and with just one click). To benefit from this Archive plan, simply go to the “Actions” menu and select the “Archive my podcast” item.

    What's the capital of Guatemala?

    No offense, but it's not Alexa here 🤨

    What happens if I cancel my Podcastics subscription?

    When your subscription is not renewed, it's no longer possible to publish new episodes. Above all, your audio files are no longer accessible, so your listeners can no longer listen to them. Please note, however, that to make life easier for you should you change your mind at a later date, Podcastics will keep your podcast and all its data 🗄️ for a period of six months. After that date, however, your podcast is automatically deleted 🗑️

    How do I delete my podcast?

    On Podcastics, you can easily delete your podcast by going to the “Podcast” tab in your Podcastics interface, then to the “Actions” menu in the top right-hand corner. This is where you'll find the “Delete podcast” item. Upon confirmation, your podcast will be deleted immediately, along with all associated data.

    If, however, you prefer to keep your podcast online, then in the same “Actions” menu you'll need to select the “Archive my podcast” item. In fact, as soon as one of your podcasts is paused or finished, you can switch it to Archive plan, which allows you to continue to benefit from all Podcastics features (statistics, audio players, website, magic links, QR Codes...) for a preferential rate of €5/month. The only difference is that you can no longer add episodes to your podcast. However, if you decide to reactivate it at a later date, you'll be able to switch back from the Archive plan to your previous plan in just one click.
