Before changing host, I was afraid to lose all the work I had done until now. For example, I was going to start again from scratch in terms of statistics, so I exported the stats of my old host to keep the data of the past episodes. For the rest, moving my podcast was almost immediate (24 hours if I remember well): it was quite amazing! I took care to redirect the .rss feed from my old host to the Podcastics .rss feed, and then I also updated this feed in each podcast application (via the Distribute tab in my Podcastics interface). I really felt like I was guided step by step. Everything is explained very simply online, you are guided click by click and it's super reassuring 🙂
Among the other positive points, I would particularly retain stats and series. The statistics are really well thought out. We know well that the listening fades over time and that the day of the launch is to be watched closely. I particularly appreciate the post-launch statistics and the comparison between episodes. The fact that you can customize your stats search is really helpful. It's an indicator that I take into account for my editorial choices. I can quickly see if one episode did better than another.
As for series, they are useful when you have a very large catalog like mine. It allows me to enhance the content of my interviews by classifying them by theme. It is not the temporality of the episodes that interests the listeners, but the answers they will find in the episodes. So instead of forcing them to scroll from season to season to choose the episode that will interest them, I find it convenient to present the list of "series" on my website. And I guess it helps with SEO too!
