In this homily, Fr Larry Kaufmann C.Ss.R preaches on the topic St. Alphonsus: Friend of the Poor. Pope Francis has sometimes said that he prefers a Church that is poor and for the poor and urges Catholics to go forth to the peripheries to proclaim the Gospel. St. Alphonsus did just that and urged his fellow-Redemptorists to do the same. Let this 18th century saint’s example challenge and inspire us for today.
