Can I encourage you in your faith today?
There's much going on these days that can cause us to feel overwhelmed, stressed, weary, and worn out. But I guess I really don't need to tell you that, do I. You're probably living it like every other person in the world is. The headlines are unnerving, our social feeds are filled with discouragement, we've got lots on our plates--maybe more than ever, we're tired and not getting enough rest, and in the back of our minds we're wondering how we can keep going at this unhealthy pace.
It's a lot. And there's a whole lot more going on in your life and mine that may not have anything to do with any of these. Family issues, health issues, relationship issues, financial issues, job issues... you name it. I could go on with this list all day, couldn't I?
We've got lots of issues.
But instead of focusing on these things, let's turn our gaze to the One Who has no issues: God. It's true! He has none. He's in control of this world that appears to be spinning out of control.
It all begins here. With God's peace.
In this episode we take our thoughts off of our situations and gaze, instead, at our hope in God. We consider a couple of Bible verses about God's peace and we learn how we can find hope in praying Scripture.
You'll find a list of Encouraging Bible Verses in my free Resource Library that you can claim for yourself and turn into simple, yet powerful prayers. The link to my library is in the show notes. God's Word and prayer will always encourage you in your faith. And me too!
To encourage you in your faith farther, I give you a tool to try.
I share it in Chapter 9 of my book, Right Now Matters, but I encourage you to give this tool a try today to help in keeping your thoughts fixed on what's helpful and hopeful.
We also discuss the most important thing we can do to stay encouraged in our faith: spending time with God.
Thank you for being my encouragement. For showing up here and for allowing me to journey with you. Stay encouraged this week, friend. God is with you. God bless you!
