Show notes

Welcome back to Encouragement for Real Life! This month’s guest episode is a special one. Julie sits down with someone who has quietly and faithfully walked with God for many years—LuEllyn Rozeboom, a woman whose life and leadership have deeply influenced Julie’s faith.

Their conversation isn’t about titles, platforms, or recognition. It’s about what it really looks like to follow Jesus in real life—through ordinary days, changing seasons, questions, doubts, and steady faithfulness. LuEllyn shares her journey of growing up in a Christian home, how her faith moved from her head to her heart through the book of John, and how God has continued to shape her through decades of walking with Him.

They talk honestly about seasons of drifting, doubt, and discouragement—and how seeking God again, with intention and persistence, brings renewal. LuEllyn shares a powerful picture of “beating a path” to the Lord—seeking Him so faithfully that the path becomes worn, just like a trail through a pasture. Faith grows when we keep showing up.

LuEllyn Rozeboom share two scriptures that have shaped her deeply:

Psalm 91, which reminds her of God’s protection, and Psalm 23, which became especially meaningful during a season of illness when she learned that God doesn’t just lead us—He walks with us and “compassionates” with us in our pain.

They talk about abiding and obeying, staying connected to Jesus who “drips with life,” and how worship itself becomes a weapon in spiritual battles. LuEllyn also shares simple, meaningful practices—like singing hymns while walking her farm—that help her stay close to God in everyday life.

This episode is a reminder that faith doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful. Choosing Jesus again and again—in quiet, unseen moments—matters deeply.

If you’re longing to grow closer to God but aren’t sure how, you don’t have to walk that road alone. Through Abundant Life Mentoring, Julie walks alongside women who want to slow down, listen to God, and live fully with Him right where they are.
