55. Bringing Kaizen - LA Lakers Story, QBIO #13

Distillin' the Ancient Attitude of Kaizen for everyday improvement

Season 2, episode 55
9 min / Published

Big improvements can come 📐 from small processes in training.  Deliberately doing certain activity and know what to look for in that is the way to go. But it only sustains if:  1. It’s a smart move ;  2. You stick to it (but keep flexible in reviewing it!) ;  3. Believe you can improve.

On this QBIO, I got a bit of the rails with time, but it was for good reasons. Here I distill more about this, and I present the idea of Kaizen - coming from a story of NBA star coach Pat Riley, in the 1986-87 season.

And you, athlete, despite difficulties by the pandemic, what are some 1% s that you can focus on and implement some strategic processes?
