Tevahine Teariki is a craftswoman renowned for the qualitý of her coconut frond weaving. Originally from the Tuamotu Islands, she took part in a project by the Tahiti and Outer Island Museum and the Quai Branly Museum in Paris highlighting ancient weaving knowledge in the various island groups. Tevahine Teariki had to deal with violence from an early age on, but managed to break the cycle by clinging to the values handed down by her grandfather as well as through her own great strength.
