Be Open Minded
Learning To Be Open Minded to the Lord.
With sin, heaven’s doors closed on humanity. Adam and Eve had open access to the Lord until they sinned, then Paradise was closed to them and for millenia mankind waited on the Savior to open access back the God. In this series, Rudi and Sharon discuss the importance of living an open life before God. Since Jesus, Heaven’s Opening, made a way for us to get back into the presence of Almighty God, we too have to emulate His oppenness to live effective and constructive spiritual lives.
The question we ask today is: How open to God am I today?

Being open-Minded to God
Key Verse: Luke 13:25-27 and Matt. 13:35
Introduction:
Jesus is our Opening to heaven. He made a way for su to be reconciled with the Father. Likewise, our lives must be His opening to the rest of the world. He wants to reach them through us.
God says: "I will utter things kept secret from the foundations of the world." He is a revealing God.
Get ready to have your mind blown!
1 Cor. 2:9 "What eyes have not seen, what ears have not heard, what has not entered the hearts of man, I have prepared for those who love Me." The Lord has made every preparation for heaven's secrets to be revealed. There was a Biblical custom for a king or ruler to send out messengers to prepare the way for him. these messengers would prepare the places for the king's arrival, the hearts of the people he would visit and create an anticipation for the ruler's visit.
We can make His pathways straight and prepare His way in our mind first.
Rom. 12:2 Be transformed by the renewal of your mind.
Having the mind of Christ is like walking on a moving sidewalk. You can walk as fast as you normally do, but with the aid of the moving sidewalk's speed you can get to your destination much faster.
There are several things that will close our minds to the Lord. Elevated opinions are notorious to close our minds to heaven. When we lift our opinions or those of others above the Lord's word and instructions, we essentially subdue the Lord in us and by so doing block the flow of divine revelation and power in our lives..
The same goes for culture and customs. The moment we put more weight to who we are and what we do, heaven's principles take a back seat. These create bottle necks in our minds that slow the wisdom and transformative knowledge of God to our hearts.
Lastly, when we lose our curiosity towards the Lord and the things of heaven, we close our minds to God. We should stay eager to learn more of Him, to be perpetual students of the Almighty. We want to explore Him and how He thinks, feels and acts. We want to become like Him.
