In a Montreal ravaged by an epidemic and a population up in arms against forced vaccinations, French Canadians got some terrible news. The date: November 16, 1885.

That same day, Berthe and Charles meet at Dalhousie Station in Old Montreal. Charles delivers telegrams. Berthe has a job that is unusual for a woman.

About to embark on a long journey, she will touch the hearts of everyone she meets.
