In the mountains of God series, we revisit the mountains of God in Scripture. many amazing encounters haapened on mountains, and we inspect, extract and apply them to our lives.

In this episode we go to Mt. Moriah.

Key Verse: Gen 22:2 (An event that happened in 2054 BC)

Point 1: Are you willing to pay the price?

God seemingly asks of Abraham for an impossible thing. He wants Abraham’s priced blessing back! God gave Isaac to Abraham and Sarah after years of believing and waiting. If we focus on the saccrifice in our key verse, we will completely miss the place, still, let us deal with the sacrifice first so we can get to the essential portion of the verse.

Take your son Isaac - Specific - son of promise, My gift to you

We must place God above all (Because He wants the best for us.) We should take care not to elevate God’s blessings above Him. We serve the Lord, who He is and not merely what He can do. He is our God and not a genie to grant our wishes. We seek His face above His hands. Everything we have, belongs to the Lord. We do not take ownership. We are administrators of all He gives us.

Point 2: Focus is on the place not the sacrifice

Moriah means “to see Yahwe or to be seen by Yahwe.” Some also say it means “chosen by God.” Moriah is a prophetic place. Situated where Jerusalem is built, Calvary is a hill of Moriah. Get it?  God is leading father Abraham on a prophetic journey where a Father will offer His Son - not Abraham but Almighty God.

Abraham: “God will provide for Himself a lamb” see Rev. 5:5-14)

Calvary is a hill on Moriah

Moriah is:

Place of Testing - devotion to God or the promise? to Who He is or what He gives?

Place of Worship: Abraham sacrificed the ram, then Solomon build the temple  2 Chron. 3:1

Place of Supernatural provision: The Ram

Place of Covenental blessing - obedience releases blessing - Abraham went early in morning v3 -Reward fro obedience is: from no son to multiply descendends

Place to remove a plague - 2 Sam. 24:25  -David

Point 3: Where we see Jesus

On the cross as Savior of the World - Lamb of God - takes away sin

At right hand of Father - King of kings and Lord of lords

Healer, Deliverer, Provider
