Comment une œuvre dramatique est-elle transposée sur la scène ?

Friedrich Dürrenmatt s’est toujours intéressé à la mise en scène de ses pièces. Mais pourquoi un intérêt aussi prononcé ? La première œuvre littéraire qui le mit en contact avec le public fut une pièce de théâtre. Au théâtre, la matière littéraire se transforme en action dramatique. Le théâtre lui permettait donc de joindre ses deux passions : la peinture et l’écriture.
