Read 2 Corinthians 9:1-15. Money can often be a huge source of worry for us. How will I pay my bills this month? What if the current economic crisis means I lose my job? What will I live on when I retire? What happens if my money ever runs out?

These worries can have a huge effect on our ability to give generously. We worry if we will have enough money to meet our own needs if we generously give it away to others. Paul offers assurance. God is able to meet our needs. He is the Almighty. He owns the universe. And he promises to bless those who give back to him.

People who give back to God will lack nothing they really need. In the Old Testament, God promised his people:

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! Malachi 3:10 (NLT)

God promises to bless the generous giver with enough for their needs and to multiply their resources to continue sharing with others. Don’t let worry rob you of his blessing! Instead, ask him to meet your needs today.

THINK IT OVER

Think about the following:

oWhat have been some of the results of your generous giving?
