Filing a complaint to escape a life of abuse

Lovaina Adams is a gendarme in Papeete. In addition to taking depositions from minors who have been sexually assaulted, she regularly visits schools, both in Tahiti and on the outer islands, to do prevention work. At the Maison de protection des familles, (Family Protection Centre), she constantly encourages women who are victims of domestic violence to report such abuse.
