Go the Extra Mile with Unexpected Kindness
Today's Battle Drill Devotional: Go the Extra Mile with Unexpected Kindness
Read Proverbs 31:10-31. What’s the first word that comes to mind when you think of God? What’s his most important characteristic? You might think of his sovereignty. You might think he is all-knowing. You might think he is everywhere. Sadly, many people think he is angry or judgmental.
But our God is first and foremost a God of mercy. The Bible tells us he is full of mercy towards us. What is mercy? It’s love in action. It is often unexpected kindness. God is full of love and compassion for us. He is slow to anger, quick to show his grace.
And he calls us to do the same. People need us to show mercy to them. People remember your unexpected kindness, because, sadly, kindness is so unexpected these days.
Let’s thank God for his mercy to us and then pledge to go the extra mile in showing unexpected kindness to our family, friends, neighbours, co-workers, and anyone else in need today.
THINK IT OVER
Think about the following:
If God is first and foremost a God of mercy, how does that impact the way you live?
