Today's Battle Drill Devotional: God Places Great Value on You

So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27)

Read Genesis 1:1-2:3. God chose to create you. You are loved by and valuable to God. The creation account in Genesis makes it clear that God chose to create the universe because he wanted to connect with a family to love. He placed human beings – you and me – on the earth so we could be his children. God loved you before the heavens and the earth were made and created you so he could connect with you and continue loving you for ever!

In his letter to the church in Ephesus, Paul declares:

Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. (Ephesians 1:4-5)

If you ever feel unloved or rejected and long to be chosen, or if you ever suffer from a lack of self-worth or struggle with your identity, then know this today: God loves you, God has chosen you and you are accepted by him through Christ Jesus. That is your identity! You are a child of God. Take time to connect with God, your Father and rest in these truths today.

THINK IT OVER

Think about the following:

How does knowing you’re loved and accepted by God make you feel?
