A Messenger on Earth
We are God’s messengers. Our faith speaks loudly through our actions. We should not limit the potential that the Lord has placed in us, but find ways for the small in us to become His prominent message through us.

Title: A Messenger on Earth
Series: Holy Messengers
Key Verse: Luke 1
Point 1: Painting the Background
Priest Zacharias and his wife, Elizabeth were a good family, from a priestly bloodline. They were both righteous and walking in commandments of God. In God’s eyes they were blameless.
Their biggest life challenge was their childlessness. While they had a lot going for them, this one thing worked against them. In their culture people who was barren were looked upon as sinners. Neighbors would whisper, “I wonder what they did wrong, to be cursed like this?”
Through it all, they remained faithful to the Lord. They fulfilled their priestly duties and served the Lord with a high level of devotion. It was during his service in the Temple that Gabriel, the Arcangel appeared to Zacharias. His message from God was, “Your prayers is heard.” The grammer does not refer to current prayers, but to past prayers. One prayed long ago. A prayer this couple no longer prayed because their child bearing days were over due to their age. They used to pray for a child, but not anymore. Clearly they settled into serving the Lord, content to be faitful to His call.
What do we do with ananswered prayers? You prayed, but because nothing happened you moved on. We are entering a season where past prayers are going to be fulfilled. Even things you think is no longer viable or appropreate. You may have even forgotton that you asked, but know this: “Your prayers are heard.
Let’s not be bitter or walk away from the Lord in dissapointment or dispare. God’s timing is everything. Our conduct between our ask and His answer is a message to God. Our actions will be that of faith, hope and love or hate, anger and frustration. Serve the Lord. Stay faithful. Be blameless.
