In this podcast, we explore the place of Google, the search engine, inside the vision of the Alphabet Inc., the mothership company of all Google properties.

Google, the search engine, is the focus of my industry, SEO and Digital Marketing.

Without Google, I would be doing something else for a living. Since 2004, I eat and breath Google 24/7.

However, when we look at the big picture, things are a lot different. I dissect every single Quaterly report of Alphabet Inc. 

Every time, I look for whatever could be said about Google, the search engine. It is striking to observe how Google is completely invisible in the vision of the mothership company Alphabet. 

We know that Google Ads is the most important part of the ecosystem. That's the money-making entity of Alphabet. Then, we can analyze how Alphabet emphasizes different businesses, like Gsuite or the Cloud. For sure, Alphabet talks a lot more about the Cloud than Search.

Also, what is left of the search engine in the founders mind, Sergei Brin and Larry Page?

I know for a fact that they are totally disconnected from what is literally only a College project for them. Sure, they made tons of money with Google, but can you really stay tuned in forever with something you worked on during your College years?

 

Furthermore, what Google are we talking about? There is a search engine. There is an advertising company. There is a ton of cash for Larry Page and Sergei Brin to play masters of the world and make geeky dreams become reality.
