Jesus, Episode 28 (12/25/2021)
Welcome to the St. John the Evangelist Advent Podcast. Today is our last episode, Episode 28, and I am the Baby Jesus.
“For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son. God gave his Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life. God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him.” John, chapter 3, verses 16 and 17.
How can I be so little, and still be God? How can I be so tiny and helpless, but still be powerful and mighty?
Lots of people have wondered that: Is this baby really God himself? Would God really make himself so small and tiny?
For some people, it’s really hard to believe. But it’s true!
I love you so much that I wanted to be with you, and share completely in your life. I came to tell you how much the Father loves you, and to show you his love in the flesh, to let you see what it looks like. And I will even give my life for you and suffer for you, so that you know how much I love you.
That’s why I was born!
And to make sure that you don’t think it’s just make-believe, or a fairy tale, or too good to be true, I was born as a tiny, helpless, crying baby, just like you. I really am with you! I came to you first as a baby, who would cry, and eat, and sleep, and grow, just like you. It’s not make-believe, I really am with you!
This Christmas I want you to know how much I love you and want to be with you. It may seem hard to believe that I can be so little and still be God. But it’s true! Nothing is impossible for me. I came to share in your life as a human, so that you could share in my life as God and be with me forever.
A prayer of Jesus from the Gospel of John, chapter 17:
“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am. I want them to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known, so that the love you have for me may be in them, and that I myself may be in them.” Amen!

To you, and to your families and friends, we say: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! God bless us, every one!
