Exit Ben Gomes and Jeff Dean because Google’s attempt to AI in Search does
not work very well.
Here comes Prabhakar Raghavan, a 30 years veteran in the search engine
industry.
For the first time, one individual is heading the entire scope of Search, Ads and
Google Assistant.
The era of integration is coming. AI needs to be more effective and robust in the
search engine, but mobile is an even bigger challenge. Everybody is fighting for
attention inside the mobile and Google needs to make some big moves now.
Google Ads is doing well. However, it seems stuck in the past. Nothing really new
and groundbreaking comes out of Google’s advertising platform. Then, there is
Google Assistant. Voice Search was supposed to change everything, but the
technology is not yet ready to impress.
We will see how Prabhakar Raghavan can take on the challenges facing Google
to keep on dominating the World of Search.
