2021: Embrace Daily Declarations to Break Cycles of Negativity
Episode 68 - Stephanie is totally giddy to welcome one of her dream guests, Margaret Feinberg, to celebrate the beginning of a new year, unique among all others.
When they first met, Stephanie was drawn to the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit in Margaret; this triggered a curiosity that is led to today's episode! They talk about Margaret's latest book, More Power to You, and they invite you to start 2021 with this 52-devotions powerhouse of a book to embrace God's full purpose for you in 2021.
Margaret says, “I devoted two minutes to reading through the list [of declarations]—often out loud,” Feinberg says. “One by one, I rejected the lies I’d accepted as truth and made bold Daily Declarations rooted in Scripture about God’s goodness, the fierce love of Christ, and my worth. Seventy-two hours later, [her husband] Leif said, ‘Something’s radically different about you—you’re lighter and freer than I’ve seen in months.’”
Margaret is giving three Gospel Spice Podcast listeners a copy of her book, More Power to You! All you need to do is go to gospelspice.com/giveaway to enter for a chance to win one of the three copies. Winners will be announced next week.

More about More Power to you:
Best Selling Author Says “Self-sabotaging Thoughts” Are Fueling Record Levels of Fear About America’s Future
Margaret Feinberg Offers Daily Declarations to Break Cycles of Negativity in New Book, More Power to You
The events that have taken place in 2020 thus far have been grueling – the sudden shift of an entire way of life and the grief associated with a global pandemic; millions out of work; natural disasters around the world; social unrest and protests in countless communities, and uncertainty about the nation’s future. This has resulted in historic levels of Americans feeling powerlessness and out of control.
Margaret Feinberg, beloved Bible teacher and host of the popular The Joycast podcast, posits that we can reclaim our sense of power in her new book, More Power to You: Declarations to Break Free from Fear and Take Back Your Life (Oct. 6, 2020, Zondervan Gift Books). Even now, she says, we can break free from negative thought-spirals, and what’s better, all it takes is 90 seconds each day.
In More Power to You, Feinberg includes 52 specific and intentional daily devotions that examine the lies that rob us of our sense of calm, transforming deep hurts into a wellspring of healing. Examples include:
· Lie: I’ll never recover from this. Declaration: The same power that resurrected Christ from the dead lives in me.
· Lie: The world is totally messed up. Declaration: The power of God guides my thoughts.
· Lie: I need to be in control. Declaration: I trust in the Lord with all my heart.
And, these devotions aren’t just words she wrote for other people; Feinberg has lived them and watched her own transformation as a result of using them every day. Her powerful devotions are designed to unleash each person’s true self and remind them of who they really are.
“I devoted two minutes to reading through the list [of declarations]—often out loud,” Feinberg says.
As people begin using the daily declarations, Feinberg says, people will better understand who they are in God’s eyes for themselves, allowing them to break free from the negative thoughts, fear, and misconceptions that hold us hostage in order to experience all of the joy God still wants for us. With 2020 far from being over, More Power to You will provide the tactical exercises that take our mindset from powerless to powerful.
