Great episode guys. Im a installation technician. I will install a “pre chiller” at a sonic restaurant. What i understand is the slush machine will be nice and cold with that insulated line. But was wondering how i can get that same effect with the soda dispenser. At least through a typical bundle it will not be a goood idea. Just thinking about wowing my people with some unique or quality ideas. Thanks James

It's basically the same as McDonald's and the multiplex. Remote refrigeration sending chilled product thru insulated lines to the unit. I'm guessing most places don't do this because of cost. On that note. Kind of irritating that in my area no new installs have insulated lines on bargun lines. We constantly get calls for flat drinks and being out of spec for temperature. Oof

The best option would be a condenser brush, if used regularly it can clean most condenser coil issues. When the coil gets so dirty the brush can not get down deep enough to remove the obstruction, than we need to look at other options. Co2 can blow most obstructions out but can cause a lot of contaminate to be blown into the area, possibly even spreading throughout the room. You can try vacuums but like you mention, not always enough power to do the job. There is also a spray cleaner designed for condenser coil cleaning that can be used. Coca-Cola part number 127230. I like this type of cleaner because it is a no rinse spray meaning it does not need to be washed off. Some cleaners are very acidic and need to be washed off afterwards or it will eat through the coil and cause a leak. Just be sure when using a chemical cleaner to use a brush a clean as much out of the coil before using the chemical cleaner.

Great point, about the coil, not George. We always suggest to clean the condenser coil on every call even if the call has nothing to do with refrigeration. A dirty coil is the main culprit behind many refrigeration issues so keeping it clean can reduce downtime and expense.
