Today is a Good Day to Practice Unpacking Our Emotions
In this episode I share with you : how to find out how we truly feel + inner work questions I ask myself to help me understand and overcome my emotions. xxx
Quotes of the Day :
" Pain is a traveling professor. And it just goes and knocks on everyone's doors, and the smartest people I know are the people who say; ''come in, and don't leave until you've taught me what I need to know.'' -Glennon Doyle (on Oprah Winfrey' Super Soul Podcast) : https://open.spotify.com/episode/4CDbNMxUKAJ0OU3iPwyByT?si=b6cd8a2058864a0a
"“Beneath every behavior is a feeling. And beneath every feeling is a need. And when we meet that need rather than focus on the behavior, we begin to deal with the cause, not the symptom.” – Ashleigh Warner
Self-Awareness questions of the day :
When you're feeling any negative emotions are you trying to do some inner work in order to help you understand why you're feeling that way? In general do you sometimes try to unpack your emotions to understand why they are here and how to heal and overcome them ? Do you want and need help to understand and overcome your emotions better ?
INNER WORK QUESTIONS / GUIDELINES : ⬇️
Step 1 : Allow yourself to not be okay (yesterday' episode topic)
Step 2: Ask yourself : how am I feeling ? Angry, sad, disappointed, ashamed… (that's our emotion on the surface)
Step 3 : What happened so I'm feeling this way ?
Step 4 : Why am I feeling that way about that situation ?
Step 5 : Why is that situation, why is that new answer, is making me feel that way ?
Step 6 : HOW is that perception I'm having about the situation making me feel ? (this step number 6 is when we find out whay's our emotions in depth)
Step 7 : what is this situationg showing me I need ? (This is VERY IMPORTANT) what do you truly need ? What does your heart needs in this situation ?
Step 8 : (that step is here to help you overcome the emotion, and heal a bit more) what can I do , what is 100% in my control right now to help me get my needs met ?
