Your Victory Song
God is giving you a victory song over all your enemies.
At the end of David's life, he spoke the words of a song to the Lord in 2 Samuel 22. In it, he offered praise to the Lord for Who He is, what He has done, and how it influenced David's life. In this episode, we take a deep dive into these three aspects and examine how we too can constuct such a victory song in our lives.

Your Victory Song
Key Verse: 2 Sam. 22:1-51
Our life song must be directed to God. We do not sing or share it aloud for people to hear. This is a praise to the Lord, to the audience of One. It is our "Look what the Lord has done," song. Interestingly, David shares this after the Lord delivered him of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. David does not cast Saul in with his other enemies. Saul did what all the other enemies of David did by threatening his life, but because Saul was the anointed of the Lord, David saw the spirit behind Saul as his real enemy. We should learn not to fight against our brothers and sisters, fellow believers, just because they oppose of even attack us. We give them into the hands of the Lord and He will deliver us.
The First Element of our Victory Song: 11 Things the God is to us
1. Our Rock - v.2
2. Our Fortress - v.2
3. Our Deliverer - v.2
4. Our Shield - v.3
5. The Horn of Salvation - v.3
6. Our High Tower - v.3
7. Our Refuge - v.3
8. Our Savior - v.3
9. Our Lamp - v.29
10. Our Strength - v. 33, 40
11. Our Lord - v.50
The Second Element of our Victory Song: What God has done for us
- He hears our prayers. v.7
- He was angry at my enemies. v.8
- He stepped on the darkness. v.10
- He uttered His voice. v.14
- He delivered me from a strong enemy. v.18
- He supported me. v.19
- He brought me into a broad place. v.20
- He delighted in me. v. 20
- He rewarded me. v.21
The Third Element of our Victory Song: We must do something to honor God
- We must keep the ways of the Lord. v.22
- We must not depart from the Lord. v.22
- We must keep His judgements before us. v.23
- We must not depart from His statutes. v.23
- We must be blameless before Him through repentance and forgiveness. v.24
- We must stay clear of iniquity. v.24
Finally,
Like David we should give thanks to the Lord among the Gentiles. v. 50. His life song was directed to toward the Lord, but He gave thanks to the Lord among the people. Our goals should be to honor God with our lives and stir others toward Him through what we do and say.
